SOUTHWEST ESSEX PRIMARY CAE TRUST - PROVIDER SERVICES
We have a close working relationship with the modern matron and district nurses. Our community midwife runs a clinic every Wednesday between 9.00 - 11.30am in the Surgery.
PRIVATE
REFERRALS
Once your doctor advises a referral to a specialist you are entitled to an NHS referral, where you will have a choice of NHS provider through the NHS Choose and Book electronic system, or you can elect to see a consultant privately. If you choose to be seen privately you are advised to make an appointment directly with the consultant’s secretary. If you would then inform the secretarial staff of the consultant’s name and date of appointment, a referral letter can be typed for you to collect to take with you to the appointment. If an NHS appointment has already been organised then the patient is responsible for its cancellation. The Health Authority is quite strict in observing the regulations that NHS and private care cannot be mixed. The referring doctor is usually able to complete the appropriate section in your insurance company’s forms but this does incur a fee.
PATIENT
SERVICES
We aim to maintain a high standard of services to our patients. We are committed
to maintaining good communications. At a time of continuing change in the health
service we ask for your support, co-operation and understanding in helping you
to better health and helping to build a healthy community.
FREEDOM
OF INFORMATION – PUBLICATION SCHEME
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication
Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information
the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is available from
reception.
ZERO TOLERANCE
We strongly support the NHS policy on zero tolerance. Anyone attending the surgery who abuses the GPs, staff or other patients be it verbally, physically or in any threatening manner whatsoever, will risk removal from the practice list. In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders from the practice premises.
